At the center of the latest global developments in the vaping industry, Columbo Vape participated in the Vape Show, 1st International B2B Forum in Netherlands, which was dedicated to providing professional solutions and the latest news of the industry to an elite of vaping businesses and professionals.

The Forum took place on 29th July 2016 in Amsterdam and was attended by the elite of the global vaping industry.

Speakers and panelists included – among others – some of the most powerful and influential vaping industry leaders who are actively engaged in the popularization of vaping, such as Ray Story - Founder and CEO of Tobacco Vaping Electronic Cigarette Association, Gregory J. Conley - ‎President of American Vaping Association, Chris Dodge - Secretary of Global Vaping Association, Dan Irwin-Brown - European and International Markets Analyst, Norm Bour - CEO of Vape Mentors, Michael Young - Manager in Vape Emporium, Ron Tully - Independent Vape Consultant, Prof. Pasquale Caponnetto - Psychotherapist and Aaron Biebert - Director of the documentary movie A Billion Lives.

The global vaping industry is moving towards significant changes and regulatory restrictions affecting all players, the vaping businesses and professionals, the vapers and the vaping society as a whole.

One of the key topics fully analyzed in the forum, was the new European Tobacco Products Directive (TPD), how it is going to be implemented on each country and how it will affect the development and design of new vaping products, especially relating to the protection and safety of the human health.

Among the key restrictions of the new European legislation, all atomizer tanks will hold up to 2ml of e-liquid at maximum and atomizers should come with a child-proof mechanism.

Also, many EU countries have or are going to completely ban cross-border sales to the end consumer.

Any vaping product which is non-compliant with the new legislation will have to be withdrawn from the market with the responsibility of both manufacturers and retailers.

One of the highlights of the Forum was the first ever exclusive sneak peak of the award winning documentary movie A Billion Lives by Aaron Biebert. Extensive presentations and discussions were unfolded around this documentary focusing mainly on how pharmaceutical companies, anti-smoking advocacy groups, tobacco companies and federal governments are to blame for the disinformation, over-regulation and banning of e-cigarettes worldwide.

Below is the list of the key topics presented during the Forum:

  • The current e-cigarette market situation and potential growth across the EU
  • TPD and basic business building practices
  • Addressing the fact vs fiction of the science of e-cigarettes
  • The start of the category through litigation USA and EU; Ecig and vapor category as a tobacco product; the future of the category past 2017
  • TPD in the UK
  • Legislation and rights of vape business.
